What to Expect
The Jasper SkyTram is Canada's longest and highest guided aerial tramway, climbing 927 metres up The Whistlers mountain to an upper station at 2,263 metres. The seven-minute ride delivers expanding views over Jasper townsite, the Athabasca River valley and six mountain ranges.
A short, rocky boardwalk trail climbs from the upper station to the true summit for an even wider panorama. Watch for marmots, pikas and sometimes bighorn sheep near the top.
Best Time to Visit
Late May–mid October; clear mornings offer the best visibility before afternoon cloud builds.
Practical Tips
The lower station is a 7 km drive south of Jasper townsite. Buy tickets online in peak summer; bring a jacket — it's noticeably colder and windier at the summit.
