Walk or cycle the 10 km waterfront seawall around the 1,000-acre peninsula.
What to Expect
The Stanley Park Seawall is a 10 km paved path tracing the waterfront edge of Vancouver's 1,000-acre urban wilderness peninsula. The seawall is the longest uninterrupted waterfront walkway in the world and the city's signature stroll.
Along the way you'll pass Siwash Rock, the totem poles at Brockton Point, Prospect Point and a lighthouse, with the North Shore mountains rising across Burrard Inlet. Rent a bike near the entrance to ride the loop in about an hour, or walk it at sunset.
Best Time to Visit
MayβSeptember for sunny skies; the seawall is walkable year-round.
Practical Tips
Free and open dawn to dusk. Bike and rollerblade rentals cluster near the Georgia Street entrance; parking inside the park is limited in summer.
Where to Stay
Downtown and Yaletown for walkability; the West End for beaches; Gastown for historic character.
