40 km of paved and gravel trails linking lakes and villages.
What to Expect
The Whistler Valley Trail is a 40 km network of paved and gravel paths linking the village to Lost Lake, Alta Lake, Green Lake and the surrounding neighbourhoods. It's the car-free backbone of the resort, used by cyclists, runners and walkers year-round.
In summer the trail connects swimming beaches, picnic spots and lakeside cafés; in winter sections are groomed for cross-country skiing. It's the best free way to explore the valley.
Best Time to Visit
May–October for cycling and swimming; winter grooms sections for cross-country skiing.
Practical Tips
Free and open year-round. Trailheads leave from Whistler Village; rent bikes at dozens of shops and head for Lost Lake or Alta Lake.
Where to Stay
Whistler Village places you slopeside with restaurants and shops; the Upper Village offers quieter luxury near the Fairmont.
